Call it what you will–an inner talent, an innate ability or a calling–these characters have got it. Prodigies are neither Rookie nor Pro; while they get the starting skills of a Rookie, they improve at normal rates. So what’s the advantage? Well, seeing as how they have a knack for something, they get better at it (and only it) really fast. When a Prodigy character is created, one skill (or group of related skills, such as Comuter-related skills, Mecha combat skills, etc.) is chosen as his talent. The Prodigy improves at his talent at the rate of 3x IP, but all his other skills accrue IP at the normal rate.
